National deputy Hernán Lombardi, appointed as the new Minister of Economic Development of the City of Buenos Aires, announced that the goal of the Head of Government, Jorge Macri, is to boost productivity in the city. Lombardi highlighted that Buenos Aires generates 20% of national production, covering sectors such as tourism, cultural industries, knowledge economy, and commerce.
In an interview with Radio Rivadavia, Lombardi explained that his management will focus on strengthening the productive apparatus of the city to reduce unemployment. The new official emphasized the importance of establishing clear regulations and eliminating bureaucratic obstacles to encourage production. He stressed that the economic stability in Argentina has improved, which favors job creation through investments.
Regarding the incident between Santiago Caputo and radical deputy Facundo Manes, Lombardi described the altercation as "inappropriate" and criticized both Caputo's and Manes' attitudes. He highlighted the importance of building rather than confronting, considering that stability is fundamental as a basis for the country's growth.
When referring to the appointment by decree of judges for the Supreme Court of Justice, Lombardi stated that while it is constitutional, it is not a good practice. He recalled the decree appointments of Horacio Rosatti and Carlos Rosenkrantz in 2016, which were later approved in Congress. Lombardi emphasized the need to generate trust, especially in Justice, and pointed out that appointing judges by decree can cause instability, which is not beneficial for the country.
